Job Description
The Rib & Chop House is a renowned steakhouse recognized for its premium steaks, fresh seafood, and award-winning baby back ribs, all delivered with a warm, approachable style known as Rocky Mountain Hospitality. Founded in 2001 and proudly owned and operated by Finally Restaurant Group in Bozeman, Montana, The Rib & Chop House has expanded from its original location into a well-respected collection of restaurants across the United States. This growth is rooted in a simple yet powerful commitment to blend exceptional food and service with the friendly spirit of the mountain towns it serves.
When you join The Rib & Chop House team, you become part of a dedicated group focused on creating memorable dining experiences and setting high standards in every community the company serves. The work environment emphasizes loyalty, safety, and service excellence, providing an ideal atmosphere where both guests and employees can thrive. Employees are valued for their talents and contributions, and there is a clear pathway for advancement within the organization. The culture combines professionalism with a casual, welcoming ambiance, making it a great place to develop your culinary and hospitality skills.
The role of Prep Cook at The Rib & Chop House is vital in setting the foundation for the steakhouse’s culinary success. This position involves careful preparation and handling of ingredients to ensure customers receive consistently high-quality meals. As a prep cook, you will be expected to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced steakhouse environment, helping to maintain the brand’s commitment to fresh ingredients and perfect execution. The focus is on guest satisfaction through precision, teamwork, and maintaining elevated standards in food preparation and kitchen operations.
In this role, understanding and following brand standards is key, as is the ability to manage and coordinate food production to align with meal serving hours. The prep cook must have a love for food and a passion for producing high-quality dishes that meet special dietary requirements and maintain excellent temperature, appearance, and taste. Communication with team members and supervisors is crucial for smooth kitchen operations and overall success. The job requires a can-do, problem-solving attitude and the ability to stay positive under time-sensitive conditions. Experience in kitchen settings is preferred but not mandatory, making this an excellent opportunity for those eager to begin a career in culinary arts.
Physically, this position demands the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds unassisted and remain on your feet for 80-90% of your shift, which typically lasts 8-10 hours. The ability to handle small kitchen tools safely and with proficiency is also essential. The work environment is dynamic and requires a focus on sanitation, personal hygiene, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Prep cooks are responsible for keeping their prep areas clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout their shifts to ensure efficiency and quality.
If you are looking for flexible scheduling options with a minimum two-shift requirement, comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and ADA insurance, plus a culture built on respect and Rocky Mountain Hospitality, The Rib & Chop House could be the perfect place for you. The team here values every member and encourages growth and development, offering a stepping stone toward a long and rewarding career in hospitality and culinary arts. Join The Rib & Chop House and be part of a team delivering perfect execution and memorable dining experiences every day.
