At the heart of its operations, Sodexo believes in creating meaningful and lasting impacts on people’s daily lives by fostering environments of respect, inclusion, and opportunity. With a presence in numerous countries, Sodexo partners with clients from healthcare, education, corporate, and many other sectors to deliver exceptional service through its comprehensive range of offerings including catering, facility management, and employee experience enhancement. Sodexo values its employees as the cornerstone of its success, promoting a culture where everyone is treated fairly, heard, and empowered to thrive professionally and personally. The company is also dedicated to diversity, equality, and providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, disability, or other legally protected characteristics.

The Prep Cook role at Sodexo, based at Miriam Hospital, offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation and teamwork to join a supportive and dynamic team. This full-time position pays between $19 and $22 per hour, with varying morning, afternoon, evening shifts, and some weekend and holiday work. The Prep Cook is an essential part of the kitchen operation, responsible for preparing both hot and cold menu items by following recipes and product instructions meticulously. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment to ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene. Prep Cooks assist in cooking basic items such as vegetables and chicken for salads, demonstrating foundational culinary skills with opportunities to expand knowledge.

Beyond cooking, the Prep Cook is a vital ambassador of Sodexo’s commitment to excellent customer service. They contribute to a positive atmosphere by bringing friendly energy and attention to detail during their shifts. Adaptability to varying tasks across different accounts and flexibility in schedule are key traits for success in this position. Sodexo prioritizes a safe and healthy work environment and expects Prep Cooks to uphold these standards actively. While some experience in food preparation is preferred, candidates with little to no experience but a strong team spirit and reliability are encouraged to apply, as training and development opportunities are readily available.

Sodexo provides a flexible and supportive workplace, enabling employees to balance personal and professional life effectively. Employees benefit from continuous training and career advancement prospects, transforming a job into a meaningful career. Comprehensive benefits are offered, including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, discount programs, and more. Some locations might offer additional perks such as free meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, public transportation support, or parking. These advantages affirm Sodexo’s commitment to the well-being and growth of its team members.

Joining Sodexo as a Prep Cook means becoming part of a company dedicated to improving daily life through quality service, inclusivity, and community impact. The position is ideal for individuals seeking a stable, rewarding full-time role where they can develop culinary skills, contribute to a positive workplace culture, and enjoy meaningful benefits in a globally recognized company.
