The role of Prep Cook at California Pizza Kitchen offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a creative culinary team that prioritizes quality, service, and guest satisfaction. This entry-level position plays a vital role in the kitchen by maintaining the highest standards of food quality and sanitation. Prep Cooks are responsible for preparing ingredients according to established recipes, procedures, specifications, and techniques to ensure that every meal served meets CPK’s high expectations. Additionally, Prep Cooks assist with receiving deliveries, conducting daily inventory checks of prepared foods, and ensuring proper storage and rotation of products to maintain freshness and safety.
In this role, Prep Cooks are expected to practice and promote safe and sanitary food handling procedures, including the cleaning and sanitizing of cutting boards, countertops, knives, and kitchen equipment. They are also responsible for monitoring and maintaining proper temperatures of equipment to ensure food safety compliance. Each shift includes opening, closing, and side work duties at their designated stations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation practices
- Willingness to learn and grow within the team
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environment beneficial but not required
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good teamwork and communication skills

Job Duties
