Unidine is currently hiring immediately for a part-time Prep Cook position at their location, Tockwotton on the Waterfront, situated at 500 Waterfront Drive in East Providence, Rhode Island. This role offers a competitive pay range from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour and provides a flexible part-time schedule where days and hours may vary based on business needs. The position is ideal for individuals with prior cooking or restaurant experience who are eager to work in a dynamic culinary team environment.

The Prep Cook role at Unidine is integral to the daily operations in the kitchen and focused on food preparation in accordance with health and safety guidelines. The successful candidate will obtain production schedules from the Chef, prepare food items accurately by following recipes and established quantities, and ensure food quality by tasting completed meals. Maintaining proper food storage, labeling, and adherence to HACCP guidelines are critical components of this role, as is keeping the workspace and equipment clean and sanitized after each use. Part of the job also entails serving customers efficiently and courteously, especially by handling items that require short preparation time.

Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the chef
  • prepare food items according to production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • store, label, and date all food items according to policy
  • follow HACCP guidelines
  • complete all required documentation, reports, and logs
  • comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • serve customers efficiently and friendly
  • complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control
  • resolve customer concerns
  • perform other duties as assigned
