Job Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry weights of 50 pounds constantly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and move continuously for periods of four hours or more
- Capability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and squat frequently
- Effective communication and active listening skills
- Willingness to work in environments with extreme temperatures, loud noises, fumes, odors, dust, and smoke
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to perform demanding kitchen tasks
Job Duties
- Report to work on time and prepare the side station as scheduled
- Maintain uniform and personal hygiene standards
- Set up side station with all food items, ingredients, equipment, and supplies
- Assist kitchen staff in food preparation and sidework as directed
- Prepare and cook all food items according to restaurant recipes and quality standards
- Check stock levels for potatoes, vegetables, hot appetizer ingredients, condiments, plateware, and supplies before shifts
- Season, cook, and plate food to meet quality, presentation, and timing standards
- Coordinate with broiler cook to synchronize food preparation and service timing
- Restock food items and supplies throughout the shift
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area including countertops, stovetops, fryers, floors, walls, and shelving
- Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions or incidents
- Complete station closing duties and assist with kitchen cleanliness at shift's end
