Job Description

Silver Diner Development LLC is a well-established leader in the casual dining segment, recognized for its commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality and fresh, high-quality food. Known for its award-winning Fresh & Local Menu, Silver Diner bridges the culinary gap between traditional tablecloth restaurants and average fast food. This is achieved through direct partnerships with over 15 local farms that emphasize organic and sustainable farming practices, ensuring that everything served is of the highest quality and prepared with care. The company has been acknowledged by prestigious institutions such as The Washington Post and Full Service Restaurant Magazine for its diverse and dynamic workplace culture — consistently fostering an environment where employees are valued and empowered. Silver Diner’s focus on people development is unmatched, with more than 60 percent of managers and all General Managers and Area Directors having been promoted from within. This clearly demonstrates their dedication to career growth and internal advancement, making them not just a restaurant but a thriving career destination.

The role offered is geared towards passionate and energetic individuals who love hospitality and enjoy working in fast-paced kitchen environments. The prep cook position at Silver Diner is much more than food preparation; it is an opportunity to learn the culinary arts extensively. Prep cooks work with scratch ingredients sourced from local farms and help set up line cooks for success during meal periods. They are exposed to flavor profiles, food trends from around the world, and various kitchen stations. The role is perfect for those seeking to grow within the culinary field, supported by a clear development ladder that provides training and promotional opportunities, including roles such as trainer, supervisor, and manager. Additionally, candidates must be prepared to work weekends and holidays, contributing to one of the busiest restaurant environments in America. This is a dynamic position offering both immediate responsibilities and long-term career paths within a reputable company that truly values its employees and prioritizes guest satisfaction.
