We are currently hiring experienced Prep Cooks to join our dedicated team at the Pinole location. This role is essential to our kitchen operations, requiring individuals who can thrive in a dynamic setting and keep up with the fast-paced nature of our service. Prep Cooks at The Original Mels are responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting with cooking tasks to ensure the smooth execution of our diverse menu. This position demands availability to work weekends and nights to meet the demands of our extended operating hours. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of prep cook or related kitchen experience
  • Availability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Physical ability to perform cooking and prep duties

Job Duties

  • Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Preparing food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
  • Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations
  • Following food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Assisting in inventory control and ingredient management
  • Supporting other kitchen staff as needed
