The Prep Cook role at IPIC Theaters is a vital position that supports the culinary team by ensuring high-quality food preparation and maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen stations. The Prep Cook is accountable for preparing menu items following established recipes and presentation guidelines, helping line cooks stay fully stocked with essential ingredients and supplies throughout their shifts. This role is essential for upholding the theater's commitment to delivering exceptional food quality and guest satisfaction. Additionally, the Prep Cook is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, and tools in assigned stations. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to dynamic kitchen environments, including accommodating daily specials and menu changes, as well as special dietary requests such as allergies.

This is a hands-on position that demands physical stamina due to frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The Prep Cook must work collaboratively with fellow kitchen staff and communicate clearly to provide exceptional guest service. The job involves working flexible hours, including weekends and shifts that may run from morning through late night. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience is preferred or a minimum of 6 months experience in food service/hospitality
  • Knowledge of weights, measurements, volume and cooking procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work in elevated temperatures
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with fellow team members and management
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including weekends and shifts from morning through late night
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently

Job Duties

  • Ensuring proper food storage and sanitation standards to ensure guest safety
  • Preps menu items using recipes and presentation guidelines established by IPIC Theaters
  • Ensure food quality will meet or exceed guests' expectations
  • Completing assigned prep work to stock and set up stations as necessary
  • Coordinate food orders to support timely and efficient delivery to each guest
  • Adapt to daily specials/menu changes and learn to prepare new items as required
  • Demonstrate flexibility with special requests and substitutions (allergies, etc.)
  • Suggest and propose culinary improvements to Kitchen Management
