Job Description
Silver Diner Development LLC is a prominent leader in the casual dining segment, known for its award-winning Fresh & Local Menu which offers surprising flexitarian and healthy options. This concept bridges the gap between formal tablecloth restaurants and everyday fast food, focusing strongly on high-quality ingredients sourced directly from over 15 local farms committed to organic and sustainable farming practices. Recognized nationally, Silver Diner has been honored as one of Washington Post's 'Most Diverse Places to Work', one of Full Service Restaurant Magazine's '20 Full Service Restaurants to Watch', and winner of the 2020 TDn2K Best Practices Award in the Family Dining Category. The company prides itself on fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere, where staff truly enjoy hospitality and are encouraged to form lasting connections with guests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Silver Diner is currently seeking warm, energetic, and contagiously friendly individuals to join their kitchen team as prep cooks. This role is vital to setting up line cooks for success by preparing food using scratch ingredients sourced from local farm partners. The position is well suited for individuals passionate about building a career in the culinary arts, as employees will learn about flavor profiles, international food trends, and every kitchen station. Silver Diner promotes professional growth through its hat development program, enabling internal promotion opportunities from trainer roles to supervisory and managerial positions. Weekend and holiday availability is required for this role, enhancing scheduling flexibility and ensuring service excellence throughout all shifts. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan, and an Employee Assistance Program along with perks such as meal discounts, gym membership discounts, and work shoe discounts. Joining Silver Diner means becoming part of one of the busiest restaurants in America and a leader in its category, where career growth and success are nurtured and celebrated.
