This role is focused on the preparation, service, and stocking of baked goods within the Whole Foods Market retail environment. The position centers around producing quality breads, pastries, cakes, pies, and other bakery products, including tasks such as decorating and finishing these items to meet high standards. Team Members in this role are expected to deliver courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service at all times while maintaining adherence to all safety and health regulations, as well as company policies. Beyond baking and production, this position involves training others, developing new recipes, planning production for special events and holidays, and managing inventory and product presentation to maximize sales potential. The role requires a positive attitude, passion for baking, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and endure long periods of standing or walking, as well as performing repetitive motions and working in variable temperature conditions. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $25.40, based on experience, and includes eligibility for Whole Benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid time off and more. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing/walking 6-8 hours per day
  • Ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures ranging from freezing to over 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders
  • No prior retail experience required

Job Duties

  • Produces quality breads and pastries
  • Produces doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars
  • Performs baking, cooling, wrapping, and labeling of products
  • Stocks dry products
  • Develops new recipes and production techniques
  • Trains production personnel
  • Performs production planning and forecasting for special events and holidays
  • Maintains all production modules in the Datapax system
  • Provides excellent customer service and suggestive selling
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
