The role of Prep Cook at this large senior living community involves a pivotal position in the culinary team, responsible for supporting the preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of food quality and safety. The Prep Cook will set up workstations, sanitize kitchen areas, measure and prepare cooking ingredients, and assist in preparing simple dishes such as entrees and salads. This position requires a fast-paced and diligent individual with the ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain stock levels. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to obtain or have current food handlers permit
Experience as a prep cook preferred
Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
Ability to read and understand recipes
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Flexibility to work various shifts
Ability to multitask and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing

Job Duties

Setting up and sanitizing workstations
Following prep lists created by chefs
Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock to be used in the cooking process
Preparing simple dishes such as entrees or salads
Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible
