Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in kitchen or food preparation preferred
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Food handler certification as required by state law
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of food safety practices

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a prep cook or kitchen support role is preferred but not required
  • Up to date certifications required by state regulations
  • Ability to follow recipes and directions, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation, including knife skills and safe handling of ingredients
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing consistent, high-quality food
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Prepare and portion ingredients, including chopping vegetables, stewing meats, preparing sauces, and other prep work required
  • Follow recipe guidelines and standards to ensure consistency in food preparation
  • Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, properly sanitized, and stocked throughout service hours
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down kitchen stations before and after shifts
  • Support line cooks by ensuring all necessary ingredients and supplies are ready for meal service
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and organized kitchen
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of ingredients and supplies and communicate any shortages to the chef
