Job Description
Silver Social is an upscale polished casual restaurant located in the heart of Washington DC, specializing in global flavors and fresh sustainable ingredients sourced from over 15 local farm partners. This establishment represents an evolution of its sister concept, Silver New American Brasserie, aiming to provide an elevated evening social atmosphere for guests. The concept features a second-floor location with award-winning food crafted by Executive Chef Ype Von Hegnst, expertly complemented by innovative drinks from acclaimed mixologist Richard Torres. The venue also boasts an outdoor terrace offering stunning city views, inviting guests to enjoy a unique dining and social experience.
Silver Social embraces a culture grounded in putting people first, empowering its team both professionally and personally. The organization proudly leads the industry in internal promotions, with more than 60% of managers and all General Managers and Area Directors having advanced from within the company. This approach reflects Silver Social's commitment to offering not just jobs but meaningful career paths for the future. The mission at the heart of the company is simple yet powerful: to be the best they can be, emphasizing excellence in people, product, guests, and growth.
The mission translates into a company culture where employees are valued as the most precious resource, recognizing their success as integral to the overall success of the business. Silver Social demands high standards of product quality, ensuring nothing less than perfection is served to guests. The team strives to surpass guest expectations consistently by adopting an attitude of saying 'yes' to customer requests whenever possible. Growth is seen as a natural outcome of maintaining excellence in all facets of operation.
Currently, Silver Social is seeking contagious, friendly, warm, and energetic individuals passionate about hospitality to join as prep cooks. These team members will play a vital role in the kitchen, preparing fresh ingredients and recipes developed by the award-winning Chef Ype Von Hengst for the line cooks to complete the final dishes. The role is available on a full-time and part-time basis and requires availability on weekends and holidays.
This position demands enthusiasm, energy, and dedication to maintaining the highest standards in food preparation and kitchen cleanliness. Prep cooks must be prepared to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. Team members will become a part of one of the busiest and most celebrated restaurants in America, renowned for its innovative concept and dedication to exceptional dining experiences.
Silver Social offers a supportive work environment with opportunities for growth, including potential career advancement to trainer, supervisor, and management levels. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan, an employee assistance program, and various perks like gym membership discounts and meal discounts. Employees are part of a tightly knit family that values warmth, respect, and professional development while offering guests an unparalleled dining experience with an emphasis on fresh, sustainable, and locally sourced ingredients.
By joining Silver Social, applicants become part of a renowned organization recognized by the Washington Post as one of the most diverse workplaces and celebrated within the industry through various accolades, including the TDn2K Best Practices Award. The company's approach to dining bridges the gap between casual dining and fast food using fresh, local menus that cater to health-conscious and flexitarian diets. Silver Social and its umbrella brands stand as leaders in the upscale polished casual restaurant category, blending innovation, quality, and care in a fast-paced, fun environment where everyone is encouraged to achieve their personal best.
