We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Prepared Foods Team Leader to join our team. This leadership role is crucial in managing and overseeing all aspects of the daily operations within the Prepared Foods department. The position is responsible for ensuring profitability, controlling expenses, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Team Leader will lead a team of associates, including Assistant Team Leaders and supervisors, to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold the company’s core values. This role demands not just operational expertise but also strong skills in hiring, developing, mentoring, and retaining team members to build a high-performance team with exceptional morale and teamwork.
The ideal candidate will have at least 24 months of retail experience with a minimum of 12 months in a leadership capacity, possessing advanced knowledge in product buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management. Food safety certification is required or must be obtained within six months of hire. The candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and motivational skills, the ability to teach and lead others constructively, and proficiency in relevant technology and financial management. This position requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting up to 50 pounds, continuous standing and walking for 6-8 hours per day, and working under various temperature conditions.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- capable of single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- able to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- work in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, refrigerators (32-40 degrees Fahrenheit), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks and heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months retail experience including 12 months team leadership experience
- food safety certification or commitment to obtain within 6 months
- advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising and inventory management
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building and customer relationship skills
- ability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner
- advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office and operations-related applications
- demonstrated decision-making ability and leadership skills
