The role available is a Prepared Foods Team Member position, aimed at individuals who are passionate about natural and organic foods and committed to delivering outstanding customer service. The position requires attention to detail such as correctly labeling, dating, and rotating products, following recipes and measuring devices precisely, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in work areas including walk-ins and freezers. Employees in this role must also document waste and spoilage appropriately and understand how these factors affect department profits. Customer interaction is a significant part of the job, with Team Members expected to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service, answer customer questions, and promote the difference between Whole Foods Market products and those found in conventional stores.

Job Requirements

  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery

Job Duties

  • assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
  • ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
