Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous kitchen experience preferred but not mandatory
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • strong attention to detail and hygiene standards
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to perform required kitchen tasks
  • willingness to work flexible hours and shifts

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is a plus but not necessary
  • at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity
  • able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel
  • physically able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds
  • able to stand for long periods up to 5 hours

Job Duties

  • Complete opening and closing checklists
  • refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
  • prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
  • understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
  • portion food products according to standard recipes
  • maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including all kitchen equipment
  • close the kitchen properly and assist others in closing
  • attend scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions
  • report equipment and food quality problems promptly
  • inform Kitchen Manager of product shortages
  • use Standard Recipe Card for all preparations
  • perform other related duties as assigned by Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty
