Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months experience as a dietary aide or in institutional food service preferred
- Cooking experience desired
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
- Previous experience in long-term care or with geriatric populations preferred
- On-the-job training provided

Job Duties
- Assist the cook with meal preparation following standardized recipes, portion control, and therapeutic diet requirements
- Prepare and serve food that is palatable and appetizing making only authorized substitutions
- Follow all dietary, sanitation, and safety policies and procedures
- Assist with food preparation for special meals and events
- Ensure food and supplies are prepared and available for upcoming meals
- Assist with inventorying, storing, and monitoring food and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of dietary service areas and equipment
- Work collaboratively with other departments to meet resident needs
- Attend required training, in-services, and educational programs
- Demonstrate excellent customer service to residents, families, visitors, and coworkers
