Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged required
  • culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
  • one or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced kitchen preferred
  • one or more years of experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • ability to read, write and understand the english language
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen utensils and equipment
  • ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work without sitting for long periods
  • ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work within varying temperature ranges

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or ged

  • experience cooking in a fast paced, cook to order kitchen preferred
  • experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • ability to read, write, and understand english
  • strong manual dexterity
  • ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and residents

Job Duties

  • preparing meats, vegetables, potatoes, breads, and desserts
  • maintaining quality and quantity control of food items at the station
  • modeling The Sterling Touch® professionalism and customer service
  • following community standards, processes, and procedures
  • assisting kitchen staff with food preparation and training
  • managing food production efficiently
  • ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met
