Job Requirements
- high school diploma or ged required
- culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
- one or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced kitchen preferred
- one or more years of experience with scratch cooking preferred
- sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
- ability to read, write and understand the english language
- sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen utensils and equipment
- ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work without sitting for long periods
- ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- ability to work within varying temperature ranges
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged

- experience with scratch cooking preferred
- sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
- ability to read, write, and understand english

- ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and residents
Job Duties
- preparing meats, vegetables, potatoes, breads, and desserts
- maintaining quality and quantity control of food items at the station
- modeling The Sterling Touch® professionalism and customer service
- following community standards, processes, and procedures
- assisting kitchen staff with food preparation and training
- managing food production efficiently
- ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met
