As a Prep Cook at RHG, you will be tasked with inspecting food ingredients for freshness and quality and ensuring proper stock rotation to maintain high standards. You will follow established cooking methods and quality policies to consistently deliver excellence. Your role will also include preparing ingredients by weighing, measuring, and mixing according to precise recipes, as well as cooking various meats, fish, vegetables, and other food items using techniques such as baking, roasting, frying, and grilling. Cleanliness and sanitation are top priorities, requiring you to maintain food preparation areas and equipment according to health regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role
  • Basic knife skills and ability to handle kitchen tools safely
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs during shifts
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions consistently
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and sanitation
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support team members
  • Passion for the food and hospitality industry

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a prep cook strongly preferred
  • Confident with basic knife skills and station setup
  • Ability to follow prep lists accurately and efficiently
  • Strong passion for food and culinary knowledge
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining cleanliness and quality standards
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Job Duties

  • Maintain freshness by inspecting food and ingredients for quality and proper stock rotation
  • Follow established cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies to ensure consistency
  • Stock and maintain appropriate levels of food products at line stations for smooth service
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen tools
  • Bake, roast, fry, and grill a variety of meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods as required
  • Keep food preparation areas, equipment, and work surfaces clean and sanitary
  • Complete closing duties and maintain clean work areas according to the kitchen checklist
  • Attend employee meetings, contribute suggestions, and support team initiatives
