The Prep Cook role at HonorHealth is a vital position within the Food Services Department at Deer Valley Medical Center. This full-time position, with varied day shifts from Monday to Sunday, 10am to 6:30pm, focuses on preparing food for both the coffee shop and main kitchen areas. The Prep Cook’s responsibilities include preparing hot and cold entrees, side dishes, bulk salads, soups, vegetables, and starches, while ensuring the highest quality, freshness, and presentation standards of all foods prepared. The role requires proficiency in operating kitchen equipment such as grinders, ovens, choppers, mixers, and blenders, as well as handling cash register operations and serving on the patient tray line. The Prep Cook maintains a clean and orderly workspace, efficiently manages inventory and requisitions stock as needed, and adheres to stringent sanitary protocols to maintain food safety and hygiene throughout the preparation process. Job Duties
- Preps for hot and cold entrees and side dishes
- Measures and mixes ingredients according to standardized recipes and specifications

- Sets up stations and assembles meals in accordance with established schedule and procedure
- Ensures that all foods prepared meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance
