We are hiring immediately for a part-time Prep Cook at our East Syracuse location. This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule with shifts from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, specifically working Tuesday through Friday. The pay range for this role is competitive, ranging from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, with additional perks including free uniforms, convenient access via bus routes, and every other Friday off, creating an excellent work-life balance for team members.

As a Prep Cook at Eurest, you will play a pivotal role in supporting kitchen operations by preparing food items according to standardized recipes and production schedules. You will be responsible for ensuring all food preparation meets high standards for quality, safety, and consistency while delivering an excellent customer experience. This includes following strict federal, state, and local health regulations as well as company sanitation protocols such as HACCP guidelines. The job involves preparing daily production sheets, completing waste logs, tasting food for quality assurance, operating kitchen equipment safely, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

The Prep Cook will also be actively involved in direct customer service by taking orders and preparing items that require short preparation times, serving customers efficiently and with a friendly attitude at multiple stations like steam tables and grills. Documentation and reporting on food preparation processes are key to supporting operational transparency and maintaining high-quality food safety standards.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the chef
  • prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • store, label and date all food items according to policy
  • follow HACCP guidelines
  • complete all required documentation, reports, logs as required
  • comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • take orders from customer and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • resolve customer concerns
  • perform other duties as assigned
