The Prep Cook role is essential in maintaining the high food quality and service standards expected within HonorHealth’s food service operations. This role involves preparing hot and cold entrees, side dishes, and bulk salad productions primarily in the coffee shop and main kitchen areas. The Prep Cook will engage hands-on with food preparation, measuring, cutting, and assembling various menu items according to standardized recipes and quality guidelines. Operating kitchen equipment such as grinders, ovens, mixers, and blenders is a daily responsibility, as well as ensuring the cleanliness and orderly setup of preparation stations. A key part of this position is maintaining proper food safety and sanitary standards throughout food handling and storage processes.
Additional duties include managing inventory by pulling daily stock, requisitioning supplies, and verifying stock items to avoid shortages. The Prep Cook will also serve on the patient tray line, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of meals. This role suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, have keen attention to detail, and value teamwork in contributing to a positive patient care environment. Experiences ranging from 1 to 2 years in similar culinary roles are preferred and a Food Handlers Card certification is essential for compliance with food safety regulations.
Overall, the Prep Cook at HonorHealth is a vital position that supports the organization’s mission to go beyond healthcare expectations by providing superior food service that enhances the overall patient and visitor experience. If you are passionate about culinary arts and interested in working within a healthcare setting that values innovation, collaboration, and community impact, this opportunity offers meaningful work with supportive benefits and career growth potential.
