Job Description
Din Tai Fung is a globally celebrated, family-owned restaurant brand founded in 1972, internationally renowned for its iconic Xiao Long Bao. With over 165 locations across 13 countries, including 20 locations in North America, Din Tai Fung has established itself as a leader in authentic Asian cuisine. It is Michelin-recognized and admired for its uncompromising quality, authentic flavors, and warm, gracious hospitality. Each restaurant location offers an elevated yet inviting cultural dining experience designed to delight guests on any occasion, whether casual dining or special events. The company values quality, precision, and consistency, making it a highly respected name in the culinary world.
As a Prep Cook at Din Tai Fung, located at 181 Southcenter Mall, Tukwila, WA 98188 (Westfield Southcenter), you play a crucial role in setting the kitchen up for success by preparing the ingredients that will bring the restaurant's dishes to life. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $24.25 per hour, reflecting the importance of the job in maintaining the high standards set by the brand. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving deliveries, inspecting ingredient quality, and handling produce with accuracy and care. You will wash, cut, and prepare food items according to Din Tai Fung’s established standards and procedures, focusing heavily on precision and consistency.
The Prep Cook must familiarize themselves with the standard cutting sizes for vegetables and maintain a clean and organized prep station. Thoroughly washing all produce helps ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently throughout service hours. This role demands attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Prep Cooks are fundamental to the kitchen operation because their preparation work directly impacts the quality and presentation of each dish served. The company also emphasizes growth opportunities, often promoting from within to encourage career development.
