Job Requirements
- Read recipes accurately and quickly prepare menu items according to standards
- keep assigned area clean and walk-ins, reach-ins clutter free
- develop in-depth knowledge of food items and recipes
- label, restock, discard and maintain all food items to avoid service disruption
- adhere to essential food safety requirements
- follow basic knife skills and kitchen safety guidelines
- must be at least 18 years old
- must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a prep cook or in a similar culinary role
- familiarity with operating kitchen equipment including mixers, Robocoup, slicers
- ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- strong focus on accuracy and precision to ensure consistency and quality
Job Duties
- Prepare and execute a variety of menu items by following established recipes and portioning guidelines
- adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients
- cooking food to food safe temperatures and maintaining a clean and organized work area
- set up and stock station with all necessary supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth, efficient service
- ensure that all menu items that leave your station meet Surf Bagel standards in terms of taste, appearance and portion size
- participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks, including equipment cleaning, dishwashing, and kitchen organization to uphold cleanliness standards and ensure a safe working environment
