Job Requirements
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs
- availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a prep cook, kitchen assistant, or similar role in a high-volume kitchen preferred
- strong knife skills and understanding of basic culinary techniques
- ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety
- willingness to support the BOH team and contribute to overall kitchen success
- positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-first mentality
Job Duties
- Prepare and portion ingredients, proteins, sauces, and garnishes according to recipes and specifications
- wash, peel, chop, and cut vegetables, fruits, and herbs for use in various dishes
- assist with butchering meat, filleting fish, and handling proteins as needed
- maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all food products to prevent waste
- ensure the prep station is fully stocked, clean, and always organized
- work closely with chefs and line cooks to ensure smooth kitchen flow
- follow recipe guidelines and portion controls to maintain consistency and quality
- assist in the daily mise en place, ensuring all necessary prep is completed before service
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, following all health department regulations
- execute tasks assigned by chefs and kitchen leadership with professionalism and enthusiasm
