Job Description
Miller's Ale House is a well-established restaurant chain known for its vibrant atmosphere, quality food, and excellent customer service. As a popular dining destination, it prides itself on delivering a memorable experience to guests by combining great food with a lively and friendly environment. The company values teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail, making it a sought-after employer in the hospitality industry. Miller's Ale House continues to grow and innovate, ensuring that both customers and employees enjoy a positive and engaging experience.
The role of Prep Cook at Miller's Ale House is a critical position within the kitchen team, responsible for supporting food preparation tasks that contribute to the overall success of the kitchen operations. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who are passionate about the culinary arts and eager to develop their skills in a dynamic restaurant setting. The Prep Cook assists in preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards. The role requires a keen eye for detail, effective time management skills, and the ability to collaborate smoothly with both back-of-house (BOH) and front-of-house (FOH) teams.
As a Prep Cook, you will be expected to prepare various food items following recipe specifications and production guidelines while ensuring the highest quality in every dish. Maintaining an organized and clean work environment is crucial; duties include sweeping, mopping, and ensuring all kitchen tools and equipment function properly. Communication skills are equally important for this role, as you will regularly coordinate with team members and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations and prompt service to guests. End-of-shift responsibilities include restocking workstations and preparing the kitchen for the next day’s workload.
Safety is a priority in this role, and the Prep Cook must follow all health and safety standards, including the correct use of personal protective equipment, to maintain compliance with industry regulations. Immediate reporting of any issues or potential concerns to management is essential to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Miller's Ale House supports its employees by fostering a positive, collaborative work culture where professionalism and service excellence are valued.
This role is suitable for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to contribute to a team-oriented workplace. While prior culinary experience is helpful, the position welcomes those committed to learning and growing within the food service industry. The Prep Cook position at Miller's Ale House offers a rewarding opportunity to gain hands-on kitchen experience, build foundational cooking skills, and be part of a respected restaurant brand. The employment type is typically full-time or part-time, with competitive wages consistent with industry standards. Miller's Ale House is committed to supporting its workforce through ongoing training and a friendly, inclusive environment that encourages career advancement.
