This position demands a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work swiftly and accurately under pressure. The Prep Cook will complete tasks in an ordered sequence as set out by the Chef de Cuisine (CDC) or Sous Chef, ensuring all ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and accessible for the cooking process. Responsibilities include washing, chopping, sorting ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and meats, measuring seasoning quantities, parboiling food items, reducing sauces, and beginning preliminary cooking steps for diverse dishes.

Additionally, the Prep Cook will take part in maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing cooking utensils and cookware, disposing of waste correctly, and ensuring that all food handling adheres to the relevant nutritional and sanitary standards. This position requires excellent knife skills coupled with a keen desire to work efficiently and urgently to complete each day's tasks. The Prep Cook must also be physically capable of standing and walking for long periods and able to reach, bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
