The Prep Cook position at Sonny's Place plays a vital role in the successful operation of the food services offered on-site. This role involves the safe preparation and assembly of food orders, maintaining clean and organized workstations, and providing excellent customer service to all guests. The Prep Cook collaborates closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure that food items are prepared accurately according to projected volumes and menu specifications. Responsibilities include conducting opening and closing duties, restocking inventory, and adhering to strict nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards. This position demands physical effort such as lifting, carrying, and moving objects, as well as long periods of standing and walking, making physical stamina an important aspect of the job.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Prep food for a variety of menu items based on projected volume and direction from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects more than fifty pounds with assistance
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including restocking items, cleaning prep area, including workstations, and inventory
  • Prepare food for service according to instructions provided on food order slips or through verbal directions
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies and relevant laws
  • Adapt to changing duties based on business needs
