Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a celebrated Bar-B-Que restaurant chain that began its journey in 1983 as a mobile concession unit, serving exceptional Bar-B-Que across the Northeast. Over the years, the company has expanded, opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Syracuse, New York, in 1988. Today, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que boasts five locations throughout New York State, each dedicated to delivering mouth-watering, high-quality Bar-B-Que in a vibrant and inviting setting. The establishment has earned a reputation for its unwavering commitment to fresh, homemade ingredients and premium quality. We are currently seeking a Prep Cook to join the dedicated team at our Syracuse location. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards that Dinosaur Bar-B-Que customers have come to expect. The Prep Cook will play a vital part in upholding the quality of every dish served by assisting with food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting the overall kitchen operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Working with fresh ingredients and adhering to strict culinary standards, the Prep Cook will ensure that every plate leaving the kitchen represents the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que brand faithfully. This role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $20.00, depending on experience, along with an opportunity for growth and development within the company. Job Requirements
- 6 mos to 2 years related experience required
- Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment
- Ability to place plates, utensils, pans, and cases on high and low shelves
- Must be able to speak and follow written and verbal communications
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food handler's certificate preferred
- Ability to use knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment
- Knowledge of menu items
- Effective communication skills
- Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment is beneficial
Job Duties
- Provide "Guest First" service and make guests feel welcome at all times
- Maintain product presentations, product quality and cook time standards
- Maintain kitchen work area and equipment
- Assist other cooks, prep, dish, and smokehouse as necessary
- Have thorough knowledge of menu items
- Complete all assigned prep work and set up cook's station according to station diagram
