Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • culinary arts degree from accredited school
  • minimum three years experience working as prep cook or similar role
  • may consider related relevant or direct experience in lieu of educational requirements
  • must possess strong knife skills
  • must have knowledge of food preparation and presentation
  • ability to follow procedures and take direction
  • must be able to read recipes, production lists, and other necessary paperwork
  • must obtain and maintain Food Handler's Card
  • may be required to obtain and maintain gaming license
  • no driving responsibilities
  • must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • must be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • must have physical ability for balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • culinary arts degree from accredited school
  • minimum three years experience as a prep cook or similar role
  • experience with Asian cuisine including Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese food preferred
  • strong knife skills
  • knowledge of food preparation and presentation
  • ability to follow procedures and directions
  • ability to read recipes, production lists, and related paperwork
  • experience in high volume line or production cooking preferred

Job Duties

  • Gather required paperwork and review order tickets
  • prepare ingredients such as spices, meats, vegetables, sauces, noodles, and rice
  • perform overall prep work to support next day or shift
  • assist in daily inventory control to avoid shortages
  • ensure proper food storage following First-In-First-Out regulations
  • label and date food items, dispose of expired items
  • maintain consistency in recipe flavor profiles, quality, and appearance
  • stock workstations for business flow and restock before shift end
  • utilize basic cooking techniques with strong knife skills
  • train and retrain kitchen personnel in all areas
  • communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • report discrepancies, accidents, or concerns
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
  • assist with special projects like banquets, meetings, and special events
  • keep notes on production levels and daily observations
  • perform other duties as assigned to support department operations
