The Prep Cook role at Legends is an essential position focused on supporting the culinary operations within a fine dining setting that demands quick and efficient service. The role involves a variety of duties that contribute directly to the overall dining experience, from food preparation and portion control to maintaining stringent sanitation and safety standards. As a key member of the kitchen team, the Prep Cook works closely with Executive Chefs, Sous Chefs, and Kitchen Supervisors to follow established opening and closing procedures and ensure all food items meet quality standards. This position requires a deep commitment to sanitation, safety, and teamwork, with responsibilities including keeping work areas clean, handling kitchen equipment safely, and maintaining proper hygiene of cooking utensils and cookware.
In addition to food preparation, the Prep Cook plays a vital role in upholding Legends' reputation for delivering exceptional fine dining service. The role demands the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with colleagues to meet service standards and ensure customer satisfaction. Given the physical nature of the job, including lifting and transporting food items weighing up to 50 pounds and performing tasks that require constant reaching, bending, and other movements, physical stamina and mobility are important. The position also involves working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts during events.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have one year of experience in a fast-paced high-end club or restaurant
- Ability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
- Ability to work all events including extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing and pulling for extended periods
- Must be able to read, speak and write in English
- Practice safe work habits and follow all safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Professional training through a culinary education or experience in a fast-paced high-volume fine dining restaurant or catering facility preferred
- Ability to interact effectively with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
- Must be able to read, speak and write in English
- Ability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
- Ability to work all events including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
- At least one year working in a fast-paced high-end club or restaurant
Job Duties
- Follow Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisors assignments for opening and closing procedures and food preparation
- Prepare food items by complying with portion size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures
- Ensure that proper food temperatures are maintained
- Responsible for safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen including shelves, walls, floors and drains
- Participate as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of product
- Maintain proper sanitation for all dining and cooking utensils and cookware
