Job Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
Hand use including grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach regularly
Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
Ability to work in cold (below 32 degrees Fahrenheit), refrigerated (32-40 degrees Fahrenheit), and hot (above 90 degrees Fahrenheit) temperatures
Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery
May require use of ladders

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow directions and procedures effectively
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Passion for natural foods and commitment to Whole Foods Market's mission
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
Ability to deliver clear and respectful communication to customers and Team Members

Job Duties

Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues
Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
Ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
Ensure product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
Help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
Maintain cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers
Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly and model suggestive selling techniques
Maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of product
Follow and comply with established procedures including health and sanitation standards and safe work practices
Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and ensure equipment maintenance
Perform opening, mid, and closing duties including accuracy of signs and pricing
Immediately report safety hazards and violations
