Job Description

The Prep Person role at Eggs Up Grill Evans is a vital part of the kitchen team, tasked with preparing fresh ingredients and supporting smooth kitchen operations. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, the Prep Person plays a critical role in ensuring the high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation that Eggs Up Grill is known for. Starting pay ranges from $9.00 to $12.50 per hour, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to offering competitive wages for its valued staff. The role involves preparing and portioning fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients according to precise recipes and prep lists, ensuring everything is ready for busy service periods. In addition to food prep, the Prep Person is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized prep station, labeling and dating all items to adhere to food safety guidelines, and assisting in receiving and storing deliveries. Job Requirements

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef or prep cook
  • Familiarity and fluency in kitchen terminology
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, procedures, and equipment
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry best practices
  • Willingness to pursue ServSafe certification is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Previous prep or kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts

Job Duties

  • Prepare and portion fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients according to recipes and prep lists
  • Follow daily prep checklists and maintain organized, clean prep stations
  • Label, date, and store all prepped items correctly
  • Monitor inventory of prep items and communicate low stock to Kitchen Manager
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
  • Clean and sanitize prep areas, equipment, and utensils throughout the shift
  • Support cooks and kitchen staff as needed during peak hours
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines (100% compliance expected)
  • Uphold Eggs Up Grill’s standards for quality, presentation, and guest experience
