Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age to operate kitchen equipment
  • flexible availability to work various shifts
  • knowledge of kitchen equipment and their safe operation
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ability to perform physical tasks required in kitchen work
  • commitment to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous kitchen, culinary, or chef experience preferred but not required
  • knowledge and experience with kitchen equipment including knives, slicers, mixers, stoves and ovens
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients according to recipes and company specifications
  • maintain a clean and organized work station
  • follow proper sanitation protocols at all times
  • coordinate with kitchen team including line cooks and management
  • execute opening and closing duties in the kitchen
  • ensure food is presented to J. Alexander's standards
  • assist in handling kitchen equipment including knives, slicers, mixers, stoves, and ovens
