In the role aboard the Pride of America, you will be an integral member of our culinary team responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Your duties will include collaborating with fellow team members to ensure the presentation and quality of dishes meet our highest standards. You will follow strict food preparation guidelines and recipes to maintain consistency and excellence, adapting seamlessly to any menu changes. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient production flow within the kitchen, ensuring operations run smoothly even during the busiest periods.
Additional responsibilities involve conducting rigorous food handling checks and adhering to training protocols to uphold safety and sanitation standards, which are paramount on a cruise ship. Inventory management assistance, including ordering and reconciliation of food items, is also part of your role. As the dynamic conditions of cruising require flexibility, you will be prepared to handle any additional culinary tasks that may arise during the voyage.
Ideal candidates for this position possess strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration within our diverse team. Proven proficiency in various cooking techniques—ranging from roasting, broiling, sautéing, frying, and grilling to pastry baking, sauce creation, and cold food preparation—is essential. You should also be adept at scaling recipes to serve anywhere from 8 to 256 guests, ensuring that every plate is a flawless representation of your culinary artistry.
Applicants are expected to hold a culinary school degree or equivalent training and have at least one year of experience working in a high-volume kitchen setting aboard a cruise ship, hotel, or fast-paced restaurant. We believe that every dish is a canvas, and perfection in both presentation and taste is a fundamental part of our service.

- Hold a culinary school degree or equivalent training
- Have at least one year of experience in a high volume kitchen on a cruise ship, at a hotel, or in a fast paced restaurant environment

- Ability to upscale a recipe from serving 8 to catering for 64, 128, or 256 guests
