Job Duties

  • follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc
  • prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc
  • assembly and preparing all packaged food items
  • keeping track of items used in each location to ensure stock is available
  • cutting, packaging, and labeling retail items
  • maintaining cleanliness of kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils
  • set up the workstation and gather ingredients needed for prep
  • checking temperatures of food as well as knowing proper holding temperature of cold and hot food items
  • breaking down, cleaning and sanitizing the work prep area
  • other duties may be assigned as needed
