Job Requirements

  • Culinary art degree or certificate
  • two years of professional culinary experience
  • ability to read, write, weigh, and measure
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to train and lead others
  • Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain by passing Safety and Sanitation test

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary art degree or certificate
  • two years of professional culinary experience in environments such as restaurants, country clubs, catering services, or university dining preparing food from scratch
  • ability to read, write, weigh, and measure ingredients accurately
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to train and lead others
  • Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain through Safety and Sanitation test
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office, CBOARD or similar menu management software, Lean Path, and Transact software preferred
  • advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational skills with duties and personnel

Job Duties

  • Aid in the creation of menu additions
  • perform tasks in multiple kitchen areas including setting up and closing stations, cooking, restocking, recipe and ingredient preparation, inventory management, dish machine operation, and cleaning
  • control costs and minimize waste
  • ensure high standards of food presentation
  • monitor food quality including temperature, taste, and appearance
  • train and guide staff on culinary techniques
  • provide outstanding customer service to dining guests
