  • Commitment to using recipe book at all times
  • Willingness to comply with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
  • Motivation to keep storage areas clean, organized, sealed, labeled, and dated
  • Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work area
  • Availability to work flexible schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced work environment
  • Knowledge of proper food preparation techniques
  • Awareness of inventory rotation and FIFO system
  • Attention to detail for reporting problems
  • Commitment to following recipe book and kitchen policies
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food products according to Metro Diner recipes using various processes, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station
  • Ensure refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are clean, organized, and properly labeled
  • Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and report product shortages to Kitchen Manager
  • Correct any prepping errors professionally
  • Report equipment and food quality issues promptly
