Job Requirements
- understanding of prepping food products according to Metro Diner recipes using a variety of processes, equipment, and utensils
- commitment to utilizing the recipe book at all times
- willingness to comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies and procedures
- motivation to ensure refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are organized and clean
- ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
- willingness to report equipment and food quality issues
- reliable and punctual
Job Qualifications
- experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced work environment
- knowledge of proper rotation of inventory and FIFO system
- attention to detail
- awareness of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
- ability to follow recipes precisely
- strong communication skills
Job Duties
- prep all food products according to Metro Diner recipes using a variety of processes, equipment, and utensils
- maintain a clean and organized workstation
- ensure refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are clean, organized, and items are properly sealed, labeled, and dated
- comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies and procedures
- report equipment and food quality problems promptly
- monitor inventory levels and inform Kitchen Manager of product shortages
- correct any prepping errors professionally
