Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks food requiring longer preparation time
- Ensures that the daily prep tasks are completed prior to service
- Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs
- Prepares items as dictated by prep sheet needs
- Operates kitchen equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, shred, trim, and prepare food ingredients
- Tastes products, checks production, and keeps records for planning requisitions
- Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following company and regulatory procedures
- Uses proper measurements and adheres to recipes
- Retrieves prep items from storage to set up workstation
- Follows food safety protocols including cooling and cross contamination prevention
- Keeps a clean station using a clean as you go mentality
- Uses proper personal protective equipment such as cut gloves
- Assists with cleaning dishes, utensils, and food containers as needed
