  • High school diploma or equivalent or a two-year associate degree
  • At least one year of cooking experience
  • Excellent kitchen administration knowledge

  • Completion of hourly position validations including safety, systems, and menu training
  • Adherence to company appearance standards
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, and handling kitchen equipment
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Must be able to use personal protective equipment appropriately

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks food requiring longer preparation time
  • Ensures that the daily prep tasks are completed prior to service
  • Follows basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs
  • Prepares food by operating kitchen equipment to measure, mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat
  • Tastes products, checks production, and keeps records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment
  • Uses proper measurements as stated in recipes
  • Retrieves all items required for prep from dry storage and walk-in cooler
  • Follows proper protocol for cooling prepped items in compliance with food safety guidelines
  • Prevents and mitigates risk of cross contamination
  • Maintains clean work station applying a clean-as-you-go approach
  • Uses proper PPE such as cut gloves
  • Assists with cleaning dishes, utensils, and other food containers as needed
