Levy is a pioneering hospitality company renowned for redefining the sports and entertainment dining experience. Widely acknowledged as a market leader and critically acclaimed, Levy operates a prestigious portfolio that includes award-winning restaurants, iconic sports and entertainment venues, and prominent cultural institutions. The company's influence extends to some of the most celebrated events in the world such as the Super Bowl, Grammy Awards, US Open Tennis Tournament, Kentucky Derby, and numerous All-Star games across major leagues like the NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL, and MLS. Levy's commitment to innovation has earned it recognition as one of the 10 most innovative companies in sports by Fast Company magazine and a designation as one of America's top three Best Employers for Diversity by Forbes. This dedication underscores Levy's inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives, equal opportunity, and a supportive environment where employees can thrive and grow authentically.
Levy currently has an exciting opening for a Senior Sous Chef - Premium at the MODA Center, home of the NBA's Portland Trailblazers and WNBA's Portland Fire. This position offers a competitive salary range between $68,000 and $75,000, classified under Pay Grade 12, reflecting the seniority and responsibility held within the culinary team. The role is integral to providing an exceptional, high-end culinary experience within the fast-paced, dynamic setting of a major sports arena. As a Senior Sous Chef with Levy at the Rose Quarter, you will support the Executive Sous Chef in managing all premium culinary operations. These include luxury suites, exclusive clubs, VIP catering, and special, high-profile events. The role demands not only culinary expertise but also strong leadership, creativity in menu development, and steadfast composure under pressure.
This senior-level culinary position involves overseeing the preparation, presentation, and consistent quality of food in premium outlets, ensuring every guest receives an unparalleled dining experience. The Senior Sous Chef will have direct influence on menu innovation, incorporating seasonal ingredients and contemporary culinary trends tailored specifically to a discerning clientele including VIP guests and event attendees. Operational efficiency is paramount, as the candidate will be responsible for managing food costs, inventory controls, waste reduction, and ensuring adherence to recipes without compromising the premium quality of the offerings.
A key component of this leadership role is mentoring and supervising a culinary team, fostering a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, and ongoing development. The Senior Sous Chef will need to demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and superior organizational skills to thrive during high-volume service periods typical of arena operations. There is a strong emphasis on food safety and sanitation, with responsibilities including compliance with HACCP standards and setting the tone for kitchen discipline. Collaboration across company culinary and marketing teams is expected to introduce and elevate premium culinary programs and guest experiences.
This opportunity suits a driven culinary professional who is passionate about pushing boundaries in premium hospitality and achieving operational excellence against the backdrop of live entertainment. With Levy, you will be part of a diverse, supportive team environment where your skills and innovation contribute directly to memorable guest experiences at some of the most exciting sports and entertainment venues in the country.
