Job Description

The Pantry Coordinator position at ONT Field is a part-time, non-exempt role within the Food & Beverage department that reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager. This role offers a competitive compensation rate of $26.25 per hour. Employees at ONT Field are represented under a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11 union and union membership is a condition of employment. The role is essential to the smooth operation of the Food Pantry, ensuring timely and precise fulfillment of food orders prepared for ONT Field suites and catering locations. Responsibilities include coordinating with kitchen staff to verify order accuracy, maintaining proper inventory and food storage procedures, tracking pantry data and paperwork, and managing communications with guests, servers, and team members.

This position demands a proactive individual capable of working in a fast-paced event-driven setting. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required as the ONT Field hosts multiple events that can extend beyond typical business hours. The Pantry Coordinator must exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail with food safety and sanitary procedures, excellent communication capabilities, and the ability to problem-solve independently. This role requires standing, lifting, and walking for extended periods, and the ability to lift weights up to 35 pounds is necessary. Furthermore, the Pantry Coordinator must obtain and maintain a valid food handler’s card and TIPS certification, with the company facilitating and compensating for these credentials.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum 21 years of age
  • highschool diploma or GED
  • basic math and cash handling experience
  • must be flexible, have a sense of urgency, be able to respond quickly and resourcefully to internal and external issues
  • working knowledge of food production techniques, purchasing, and sanitation procedures
  • ability to take tasks that are not clearly defined and appropriately define problem, propose and implement solutions
  • must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • a valid food handler's card within 30 days of hire
  • TIPS certification
  • ability to provide two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis in positive motivation and teamwork
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • ability to interact with all levels of customers and staff including management
  • ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours

Job Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum 21 years of age
  • highschool diploma or GED
  • previous bartending experience a plus
  • previous customer service experience
  • basic math and cash handling experience
  • must be flexible, have a sense of urgency, be able to respond quickly and resourcefully to internal and external issues
  • working knowledge of food production techniques, purchasing, and sanitation procedures
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to take tasks that are not clearly defined and appropriately define problem, propose and implement solutions
  • must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Ensure all food orders are fulfilled fully and received from kitchen without discrepancy or shortages
  • responsible for the completion of opening and closing duties assigned by the Concessions, Suites and Catering Manager or Supervisor
  • maintain organization by rotating shelf-stable product and/or breaking down packaging for the cleanliness of pantry area, and, checking for expirations etc. alongside staff
  • maintain Food Pantry database, paperwork, and files
  • maintain open communication with guests, servers, and staff on all food orders
  • place food orders for pantry in concordance w/ budget and adhere to the budget for kitchen along with supervisors and managers
  • treat all guests and staff with respect and dignity
  • adhere to company and state guidelines when pouring drinks
  • must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • any other duties as assigned
