Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a banquet, hotel, or catering kitchen environment preferred
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume food production under tight timelines
  • Strong knowledge of event catering logistics, kitchen flow, and execution
  • Food safety certification (or ability to obtain) required
  • Solid knife skills and ability to work across stations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills especially under pressure
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
  • Comfortable wearing a uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes for events with 50 to 1,000+ guests, following production guidelines and standardized banquet recipes
  • Coordinate timing and food production with front-of-house teams and event planners to ensure seamless meal service during multi-course functions
  • Set up, maintain, and break down banquet kitchen stations in line with event schedules
  • Assist with on-site and off-site catered functions, including buffet setups, plated dinners, and action stations
  • Accurately portion and present dishes with an emphasis on aesthetics and consistency for high-volume service
  • Follow detailed banquet event orders (BEOs) and adjust for last-minute changes while maintaining quality and efficiency
  • Operate and maintain a variety of kitchen equipment (ovens, flat tops, tilt skillets, combi ovens, etc.) safely and efficiently
