At New Horizon Bank, the Premier Banker role is a unique and multifaceted position based at the new Operations Center location. This full-time opportunity is designed for a skilled and experienced Premier Banker seeking growth and diversification beyond the scope of typical banking roles. The Premier Banker acts as a concierge for personalized banking services, offering white-glove support to clients by opening new accounts, explaining various banking products and services, and providing in-depth assistance with everyday transactions. The position extends beyond traditional responsibilities, involving operational duties such as managing NSF accounts, handling dormant accounts, and supporting debit and online banking services. Additionally, the Premier Banker participates in business development activities, including community and special events, contributing to the bank’s expansion and client engagement strategies.

This role demands excellent multitasking ability with precision, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and a comprehensive understanding of financial products and services. Candidates must exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate adaptability to evolving business needs and regulatory requirements, including compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations. Certification as an NMLS-approved Mortgage Loan Officer is also a key qualification, positioning the Premier Banker to provide specialized mortgage guidance to clients. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma
  • a minimum of 2 years' premier banker experience preferably with a community bank
  • ability to multitask with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  • a good understanding of computer functions and typing skills
  • strong organization skills and problem solving
  • basic understanding of financial products and services and the ability and willingness to continue to learn
  • assessing customers' needs providing appropriate recommendations and building customer relationships to optimize opportunities with new and existing customers
  • exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to adapt to changing demands and requirements
  • compliance with BSA regulations as appropriate to the position

Job Duties

  • offer personalized white-glove service and support to customers including opening new accounts explaining available bank products and services and gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts
  • process regular teller transactions for customers including servicing customer accounts accepting loan payments cashing checks verifying currency balancing the cash drawer and ATM initiating night deposits and other related duties
  • provide comprehensive online mobile and electronic banking support to customers
  • maintain proper security in teller cash and reserve handling ensuring currency and coin are properly controlled at all times
  • open and close the bank with an emphasis on security
  • perform operational duties including handling NSF dormant accounts overdrafts charge offs debit cards online banking and safe deposit boxes
  • participate in activities for generating new business such as special events
  • work from all other locations from time to time as capacity needs arise
  • greet customers and direct guests ensuring a professional and welcoming experience
  • handle incoming calls for the bank and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
  • maintain supply inventory for the branch and attached corporate office
