The role of Mechanical and Electrical Assembler at Benchmark involves installing and removing mechanical and electrical components in assemblies and sub-assemblies according to detailed work instructions and visual aids. This position requires working closely with a team of assemblers and support staff to produce products on time with high quality standards. The assembler will also be responsible for troubleshooting failed assemblies to determine appropriate corrective actions. In addition to assembly work, the role includes performing validation and inspection of completed work to maintain accuracy and quality, maintaining adequate supplies, tools, and a tidy work environment, and ensuring the security and confidentiality of customer products and documentation.

The Mechanical and Electrical Assembler may participate in product testing and is expected to provide timely feedback to upstream and downstream operations to improve processes. A key focus of the role is active participation in site Lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities to reduce scrap, enhance efficiency, and eliminate root causes of assembly issues. Working safely and adhering to all health and safety rules, company policies, and security procedures is mandatory in this safety-sensitive position. The position requires good manual dexterity, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and the ability to handle changing priorities effectively while communicating clearly both verbally and in writing.

Benchmark employs a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, working the first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm at their Mesa, AZ facility. The job involves working on problems of limited scope under the guidance of a lead or supervisor, with possibilities for cross-training in other areas and obtaining necessary certifications on assigned equipment. This position also requires the ability to work overtime as needed and emphasizes building stable working relationships with operators and peers.
