This exemplary institution is dedicated to delivering innovative, patient-centered care to thousands of patients both locally and internationally. Operating as an equal opportunity employer, Houston Methodist is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment for all employees.

The Pre-Transplant Coordinator role at Houston Methodist Hospital is a specialized Registered Nurse position integral to the transplant team. This role encompasses comprehensive coordination and facilitation of all phases of the transplant journey, including the referral, evaluation, waiting, and peri-operative stages. The Pre-Transplant Coordinator works closely with interprofessional team members, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care for patients awaiting transplantation. This role also involves maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and contributing to quality and performance improvement initiatives within the department. The position demands strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, alongside proficiency in managing complex caseloads and prioritizing urgent patient needs.

The role is exempt under the FLSA and requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas within 60 days of employment if not already held, as well as Basic Life Support certification. Additional responsibilities include documenting patient progress, participating in transplant events, handling insurance authorization protocols, and supporting departmental financial and quality goals.
