Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3-6 months of related experience
- Must have keyboarding and computer skills
- Ability to file accurately

- Ability to schedule and coordinate appointments, tests, and referrals
- Ability to answer telephones and relay information professionally
- Knowledge of maintaining medical records and patient confidentiality
- Ability to perform basic office tasks and composition of correspondence
- Capability to maintain clean work area and report equipment issues

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Registers patients/customers and confirms patient/guarantor demographic and insurance information
- Completes all required fields in practice management system
- Determines patient co-payments and collects payments on amounts due
- Enter charges/payments into MISYS/Tiger system
- Prepares encounter forms for charge entry using correct ICD-9 and CPT codes
- Schedules and coordinates patient appointments, tests, and referrals
- Answers telephones, takes messages, routes callers, and provides/relays information
- Maintains patient medical records according to standards
- Obtains patient authorization for transfer of private health information
- Maintains patient confidentiality of data and information
- Performs basic office duties such as sorting/mail distribution, copying, filing, faxing, ordering supplies, and completing forms
- Performs basic composition of letters and reports
- Maintains a clean unit environment/work area and communicates equipment malfunctions
- Maintains accountability for special projects as assigned
- Performs individual assignments as directed by management
- Maintains unsupervised access to medication rooms for stocking/retrieving supplies
- Maintains provider schedules including meetings, appointments, cancellations, and reschedules
- Prints physician daily schedules
- Runs reports from MISYS/Tiger system
- Prepares deposits and completes deposit verification
- Ensures patients, families, visitors, customers, and employees are treated with kindness and respect
- Demonstrates teamwork and integrity
