The role of Practice Coordinator at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ, is a full-time, on-site position that plays a critical role in supporting and maintaining the operations of the TeamHealth Hospital Medicine (THHM) practice. This position requires the candidate to uphold TeamHealth’s Mission, Vision, and Values while working collaboratively with various levels of hospital and TeamHealth leadership. The Practice Coordinator performs both administrative and operational functions to ensure seamless day-to-day practice management. Administratively, this role includes collaborating with the Facility Medical Director, VP of Operations, Regional Medical Director, and hospital leadership to meet administrative needs and support the clinicians effectively.
Operational responsibilities include managing daily patient reconciliation, processing medical records, reviewing documentation, and submitting these to the designated billing center. The Practice Coordinator is essential in maintaining timely and accurate chart capture, assisting with data collection for facility metrics, and contributing to the achievement of productivity targets. The role requires maintaining strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality, ensuring all physician documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory standards, and proactively partnering with Medical Directors and supervisors to uphold workflow and quality standards. The position demands a professional demeanor and adherence to hospital guidelines and TeamHealth policies. Job Requirements
- recent relevant experience within the past six months in a hospital or physician office setting
- knowledge of medical records administration patient registration and documentation workflows
- demonstrated ability to maintain compliant accurate recordkeeping in a healthcare environment
- familiarity with current tools standards and regulatory requirements in hospital medicine operations

- proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Excel and Word
- experience working directly with clinicians preferred
- ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across departments
Job Duties
- perform all assigned duties as directed by TeamHealth leadership
- communicate regularly with the designated TeamHealth supervisor and facility contacts
- maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
- access hospital information systems or collaborate with facility staff to obtain complete and accurate patient demographic and insurance data for billing
- coordinate completion of all physician documentation and proactively partner with the medical director and PC supervisor to ensure timely signatures and compliance
- alert the PC supervisor and request support from TeamHealth leadership if facility processes change or deviate from the current workflow
- meet and maintain individual performance goals as assigned by the PC supervisor
- maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate professional conduct at all times
- work regularly scheduled weekday hours and comply with Kronos and attendance policies
