The Sports Bar Cook 2 role is pivotal in ensuring all food preparations meet high standards of quality and presentation, contributing directly to the satisfaction and enjoyment of guests. This intermediate-level culinary position involves preparing a range of menu items including appetizers, desserts, meats, fish, and vegetables using various cooking methods such as griddle, flat top, fry, and tempura. The cook is tasked with marinating, breading, seasoning, and cooking ingredients precisely and safely, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Beyond cooking, the role demands active participation in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, working closely with the culinary team and kitchen stewards to ensure efficient inventory management and kitchen operations. The Sports Bar Cook 2 is also expected to assist with opening and closing duties, rotate inventory items to maintain freshness, and occasionally support other kitchen venues to gain broader knowledge and versatility.

Job Requirements

  • six months of related experience required high school diploma or equivalent preferred ability to demonstrate intermediate culinary skills required ability to successfully achieve servsafe certification within 90 days ability to successfully complete culinary academy within 12 months ability to use basic math skills including adding subtracting multiplying dividing and counting using whole numbers and fractions ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information ability to interact with guests and team members professionally ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights early mornings weekends and holidays ability to stand sit walk climb balance stoop kneel crouch move freely for prolonged periods in fast paced environment ability to lift carry push pull or move objects up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance must wear personal protective equipment ppe while performing job duties specific vision abilities including close color distance peripheral depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Job Duties

  • perform intermediate food preparation and cooking duties including breading and marinating ingredients for use prepare desserts appetizers and hot foods season and cook meats fish and vegetables prepare menu items and dishes using griddle flat top fry and or tempura cooking methods use and clean kitchen surfaces equipment and utensils including ovens grills fryers broilers and knives safely ensure a safe sanitary and organized working environment working closely with stewards learn to perform skilled kitchen and cooking duties and assist other members of the culinary team assist in storing and rotating of all inventories as needed perform opening and closing duties as needed work at other kitchens venues as assigned based on business needs and to gain knowledge perform job duties in full compliance with departmental internal controls policies procedures and regulations perform other duties as assigned
